The City of Springboro, Ohio was first settled in 1798, incorporated as a village in 1815, and as a city in 1987. It is located off Interstate 75 (exit 38) in northern Warren County, 14 miles south of downtown Dayton and 37 miles north of downtown Cincinnati. Springboro is one of the fastest growing communities in Warren County. According to Money Magazine, of the best 100 small cities in the United States, the City of Springboro was named the 41st Best Place to Live in America in 2009!
The Springboro Lions Club has been serving our community since 1953. Some of our major accomplishments are:
- Purchased SureSight (TM) Vision Screener for use in Springboro Schools
- Provide eye exams and eyeglasses to children of needy families
- Collect used eyeglasses for missions to third world countries
- Sponsor “Diabetes Strides Walk” & Health Screenings
- “Cracker Jack for Kids” a Halloween project that encourages interaction between our local Police and Fire Departments.
- Provide college scholarships to graduating high school students
- Purchased AED’s (Automatic Electronic Defibrillators) for emergency responders
- Built shelter houses at city parks and Clearcreek Elementary School
