CARE OF THE EAR AND SIGN LANGUAGE WORKSHOP
On the 24th February, 2018 Lions partnered with DRETCHI to host a Care of the Ear and Introduction to Sign Language Workshop. Lions from Clubs across Trinidad and Tobago attended the workshop. It was a great experience learning from Ian who is deaf as he took us through some general sign language instructions. We signed the alphabet, our name, introductions and other signs.
Some of our members-Lions Mae Lee, Patricia, Shirley and Helen received certificates of participation.
We look forward to continued collaborations with DRETCHI.

Lion Jeanne Blaize-Chairperson, Region 3 attended our Club Meeting on the 24th February, 2018. Lions Club International has set out a new Club Structure which Clubs are required to adopt for the new year starting from the 01st July 2018.
The presentation highlighted the new Structure and identified the roles and responsibilities of each position holder. The Nominations Committee will meet in March to choose the new slate of persons for the new term.
EYEGLASSES BANK PROJECT-
VISION THROUGH COOPERATION
Members of the public have the opportunity to get their eyes tested for free and be referred to a top Optomology Company to receive prescription glasses.
ANNUAL SCHOOL CALYPSO COMPETITION
Every year the Club hosts its annual School Calypso Competition at the San Juan/Laventille Regional Promenade (Croisee, San Juan).
It is an excellent opportunity for the Club to engage with the youth in the community while building cultural and educational awareness. Students register for the competition showcasing their musical talent and creativity while competing for the various coveted titles. The public is invited to attend.
We are able to maintain this competition through the generosity of country sponsors.
In the month of November every year, the Club hosts its Bingo event.
Citizens of Trinidad and Tobago who are bingo aficionados or persons who want to experience the thrill of shouting "bingo" come out to participate in this event.
The proceeds from this event usually go to a service project to be determined by the Club.
