VISION Programs: Our club works closely with the West Sonoma County School Nurses to provide vision screening and eye glasses from pre-school through high school.  We also provide eyeglasses to adults in need and refer patients to the Lions Eye Foundation in San Francisco.  We also work with other Lions Clubs on PediaVision screening and referrals.  We are continuing these efforts through virtual meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

YOUTH & EDUCATION:  Before the COVID-19 pandemic the Gravenstein Lions were involved in athletic and academic programs in many West Sonoma County (CA) Schools.  We served as the "Chain Gang" at Analy High School football games, offered scholarships at Laguna High School, and assisted in activities at Forestville, Oak Grove and Guerneville elementary schools.   We still sponsor local Scout Troop 27 and Venturiing Crew 27.  We held a virtual meeting to select two Laguna High School Students for scholarships in 2020.and awarded in-person $500 scholarship to 2 students in 2021.

HUNGER: We provide financial support to the Redwood Empire Food Bank in Santa Rosa,CA as well as packaging foods for distribution..  We  also support the Ceres Community Project which provides meals, prepared by Teen Chefs, to cancer patients. We've provided additional fundiing during the COVID-19 pandemic..

ENVIRONMENT: Our club members worked with Sonoma County Regional Parks building tables and BBQ stations in the Lions Grove at Ragle Park in Sebastopol. We've done fencing of old and young oaks at Ragle Park as the Gravenstein Lions Centennial Legacy Project.  We have done sign painting on Sonoma County Park's Joe Rodota and West County Trails.  We have not undertaken work projects during the COVID-19 pandemic.

OTHER PROJECTS:  Over the years Gravenstein Lions have built handicap ramps for persons in need and worked on local Habitat for Humanity houses.  We've served meals at Canine Companions Incorporated graduation ceremonies.

FUNDRAISING: To raise funds to help others, the Gravenstein Lions conducted an annual Fireworks Booth sale around the July 4th Independence Day, selling only "safe & sane" fireworks.  Due to high fire danger the sale of fireworks were banned by the City of Sebastopol  in 2020  As that ban continues, we are now investigating other fundraising options.

WE SERVE - we invite you to join us in our efforts!  We are looking to do more projects in 2021-2022.
