Grants

Our club has been fortunate to receive grants for our non-profit organization, the Fund for the Blind of Erie County, from:

1. Mylander Community Foundation
2. Wightman-Wieber Foundation
3. Erie County Community Foundation
4. Zion Lutheran Church
5. Wal Mart

We used these grants for the following projects:

1. Low income sight-impaired people who need eye exams and eye glasses.  This includes adults and children.  We purchase about 5-10 pairs of glasses per month at a cost of $125-$150 each.
2. The purchase of low vision readers.
3. The purchase of  low vision medical equipment.
4. The purchase of FM hearing systems for the local school systems for children who are hearing impaired.
5.  Eye surgeries.
