All About the Roselle Lions Club
The Roselle Lions Club was chartered on April 26, 1934 and we are proudly celebrating over 75 years of Lionism. Not only has the Roselle Lions Club been dedicated to the goals and programs of Lions International Founder Melvin Jones, we are also devoted to the Roselle Community and its needs. Over the last 75 years, you have seen Roselle Lions on street corners in the fall donned in yellow vest collecting donations for Candy Day...but you also see us out in the community in a number of ways...
For over 50 years, the Roselle Lions have been host to the annual Rose Festival on the first weekend in June. From Live Entertainment, to a Grand Food Court, to plenty of Family Rides, the Roselle Lions Club provides a fun filled community weekend the is highlighted on the first Sunday of June with Roselle's Annual Rose Parade. During the first weekend in August, you will see Lions at the Taste of Roselle providing beer sales for the weekend.
As Christmas approaches it's time for the Lions Club annual Lunch with Santa Claus. In recent years, we have been host to almost 300 for an afternoon of holiday crafts, lunch with Santa and a picture on Santa's Lap!
These are just physical ways you see the Roselle Lions in town...BUT there are other ways you see us too. From the Roselle Public Library to the Roselle Historical Foundation, the Lions Club has donated it's time and resources to enhance Roselle's past and future. Ever had a picnic at the Turner Park Pavilion or had your children play in Lions Park on Irving Park Road? Both facilities were donated to the Roselle Park District by the Roselle Lions Club. In recent years, the Roselle Lions Club has been a proud supporter of the Miracle Field at Parkside Park, a state of the art facility enabling handicapped children to enjoy America's pass time: Baseball.
The Roselle Lions Club also reaches members of the community in need of eyeglasses or hearing aids by arranging for special needs to be met, the very goal that Lions International was founded on.
The Roselle Lions Club invites you to visit with us on this site and see what Lionism is all about. We work hard to raise the funds to give back to the community and to Lions Clubs Programs, but we also have a great time doing it! It is our hope that the more familiar you become with the Roselle Lions Club, you might also like to join us in our quest for Lionism!
