Meetings

The club meets at the Raymond Public Safety Building on Route 302 in Raymond, on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in the months of September through June..

Our motto is "We Serve".  We are an active club sponsoring the following events annually:

Lions Club scholarships    If you are interested in this scholarship, please fill out and return the application you can find on the Raymond Town / Raymond Lions Club website.

American flags:  We hang American Flags on route 302 and Main Street at specified sites before Memorial Day, then take them down after Veterans' Day.

Vision Support:  We collect used eye glasses to reuse for people in Third World countries.  There is a collection box in the Raymond Village Library and at the Raymond Town Office.   We provide financial assistance to obtain eyeglasses or an eye exam for Raymond residents who qualify based on the application that can be found on the Raymond Town/Raymond Lions Club website

American Red Cross Blood Drives:  We sponsor two blood drives a year at the Jordan Small Middle School, generally in June and November.

Christmas Tree Lighting at Raymond Library:  On the Sunday evening after Thanksgiving, the Raymond Lions partner with the Library, Raymond Elementary School and the Raymond Arts Alliance to offer a family oriented experience including Christmas carols, hot chocolate and even a visit from Santa!

We have three primary fundraisers.  All funds contributed by the public are returned to the public.   Administrative funds are raised through member dues.

1. Ongoing bottle drive:  We have two bottle collections sites:   Raymond Town Hall parking lot and the Jordan Animal Hospital driveway.   Half the proceeds going to fund the Lions Club Scholarships and the other half going to multiple organizations such as these Raymond based organizations: Food Pantry, Raymond Village Library, Veterans Park, Fire & Rescue, as well as many other regional groups.

2. Christmas Tree Sales:  Christmas trees are sold to the public during the first two weekends of December in the parking lot of Swift River Coffee Roasters, using space generously donated to us by the Roasters and the Good Life Market. This is another primary fundraiser for the Club.

3. Maine Maple Weekend: We host a Maine Maple pancake breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday of Maine Maple weekend.  The facilities, equipment and outstanding maple syrup is generously donated by Balsam Ridge Christmas Tree Farm on Egypt Road.  This is another primary fundraiser for the Club.

If you are interested in participating or supporting any of these activities, please contact April Fey or Laurie Wallace, co-Presidents, at 655-2222.
