COMMUNITY
The community team receive information about and seek out people and organisations in our local community who are in need whether that be man-power, financial assistance or moral support. Over the years the club has assisted many organisations and individuals.
We also run out "Yout Grant" each year which aims to help young people (individuals and groups) achieve their aims and aspirations and to give them a little extra help to help them on their journey.
We also orgainise a successful "Spring into Wellbeing" event which offers free blood tests to men and women (particularly important for men through PSA testing for prostate cancer). The event also offers the opportunity for local wellbeing groups the chance to present their services to local residents.
FUNDRAISING
The fundraising team plan and organise events to raise funds to allow us to be able to serve the local community. We offer our services free of charge and to be able to do this requires a steady income.
EVERY PENNY RAISED FOR CHARITY GOES TO CHARITY!
Club members pay a yearly subscription which covers our administration costs.
We raise money by collecting locally and running events such as:
- Collections at local Supermarkets
- Car Boot Sales
- Santa & Easter Floats
- Race Nights
- A stall at the Christmas Fair

SOCIAL
Our club has a very active social diary and this is central to us making sure we have fun while serving the local community. These social events also help members get to know each other better so we are friends, not just colleagues.
Recent social events:
- Trips out on the River Avon
- Charter Dinner
- Meals out at local restaurants
- Skittles Evenings
- Day trips to places of interest (Thatchers Cider)
- Coffe mornings
YOUTH
We work extensively with local Youth groups and Schools including the Portishead Youth and Community Centre to encourage the younger members of our community to have a sense of purpose and achievement.
