To: Graduating Seniors, Parents and Guardians:
In 2025, Plano Early Lions Club will continue to offer a post-high school scholarship to outstanding high school seniors in the Plano area. Since our scholarship funds are a result of our fundraising activities, the amounts vary from year to year.
We are pleased to announce that this year we will be offering a $5000 scholarship. This amount will be paid directly to the post-high school education institution of the student’s choice in two payments of up to $2500, one for fall semester and one for spring semester.
This award is not just for someone going onto college. Any post-high school learning institution qualifies (i.e., technical school).
We are not looking for the student with the highest grades, necessarily, although scholastic achievement is one of the scoring criteria. We are looking for candidates that are active in activities like Scouting but not limited to Scouting.
We also want to see other activities like clubs, band, acting/choral, student council, etc. Continuous, long-term involvement that shows leadership and commitment are big pluses. We are looking for someone with a heart for service. We also want to learn about your plan for your future. Where do you want to be in 6-10 years?
