                      Helping our Community.

We have been busy donating our proceeds to many community causes. We financially support over 20 charitable organizations during each year. In the past we have donated over $11,000.00 to groups like White Rock Hospice, White Rock Leisure Services, Semiahmoo Rescue, St. Johns Ambulance, Lions Foundation of Canada (for dog guides) and for Remembrance Day we purchase a wreath from the Royal Canadian Legion #240 every year. Also every January 1 we sponsor a polar bear swim at the big white rock in White Rock, BC. January 1, 2010 was our 40th year. We also collect used eyeglasses from the local community every month and send them to CLERC (Canadian Lions Eyeglass Recycle Centre) and from there they are checked and when needed sent to Third World Countries. A great project for the club.

If you are interested in helping the White Rock and South Surrey communities, please consider joining the Peace Arch Monarch Lions Club. Just call the club secretary Carol at 604-597-5616 to ask about joining. We meet the 1st and 3rd thursdays at 11:30 a.m. at Semiahmoo Fish & Game Club, 1284-184 Street, Surrey, BC
