Lions: Loving Individuals Offering Needed Services
Knights of the Sight and Hearing Impaired
The Oxford Lions Club is part of the Lions Club International, the world’s largest
service organization of men and women.
As dedicated Lions, we are committed
to serving the needs of our Oxford community.
We have since 1945, honored our
commission from Helen Keller who challenged all Lions to be the “knights of
seeing and hearing impaired.”
The purpose of any Lions Club is to provide the means to help all individuals in
their community who do not have the money or finances to adequately address
their issues with seeing or hearing related problems. It does not matter the
urgency, the scope, or the depth of difficulty.
For example:
Eye Glasses
Hearing Aids
Eye Operations
Hearing Operations and Bone Anchored Hearing Aids (BAHA’S)
Computer Software
Braille Printers and Printed Word Readers
