Dementia Buddy’s ‘ Guardian Angels’

PROVIDED BY OSWESTRY LIONS FREE OF CHARGE WITHIN OSWESTRY AND DISTRICT POST CODES, OTHERWISE BY GOOD DEADS TRUST AT A SMALL CHARGE. CHARITIES RESPONDING TO FREQUENT MESSAGES BY RELATIVES:

These security devices are safe for the user, containing only the first name and two emergency telephone numbers provided by the user, to be accessed in an emergency by a member a member of the public or the emergency services by tapping the device with any modern mobile phone, (activate Android NFC or Apple Pay). The devices work off the phone so do not require batteries.

LIONS BURSARY FUND INFORMATION

(GUIDANCE NOTES for APPLICANTS)

MARY HIGNETT a much loved local writer left half of her residual estate to the Lions Club of Oswestry. Ms Hignett’s will gave the Club wide discretion regarding how the money was to be administrated and disbursed.

The Committee charged with administration of the fund will meet mainly once a year in August (subject to change at the sole discretion 0f Lions) to invite applications for a grant which would be completed in January the following year.

Applicants are asked to complete an application on the form which can be obtained by an email request to tderrick15@btinternet.com or posted to Secretary, Valrick, Southlands Avenue, Gobowen. SY11 3NF

Please do not attach any supporting documents at this stage, further documents may be requested at a later stage.

Preference will be given to; a grant that will complete or nearly complete the funding for the subject project, or service and where the applicant intends to devote an appropriate amount of its own resources. Always subject to adjudicating Lions considering the application a worthy cause.

Applications for sponsorship, payment of fees, salaries. Overheads or recurring costs will not be considered.

All Payments will be made:

By cheques or Bacs to the applying organisation on completion of work or purchase of equipment after the production of a receipted invoice which must be submitted within two months of completion of the work or purchase of equipment.
