MOBILITY ASSISTANCE EQUIPMENT WEBSITE INFORMATION

ORCAS ISLAND LIONS CLUB WEBSITE

The Orcas Island Lions Club has partnered with the Orcas Senior Advisory Committee to provide a free loan program of Mobility Assistance Equipment to Orcas residents who require these devices. This includes items such as canes, walkers, and wheelchairs. A more complete list of equipment is available at https://orcaslions.org, listed under Community Programs.

Staffed by volunteers from the Orcas Lions Club, we provide good used equipment that has either been donated to the Senior Center or loaned to us by our sister club, the Bellingham Central Lions Club which operates the Wheelchair Warehouse in Bellingham, The equipment is available to Orcas Island residents of all ages who require it and is loaned at no cost to the recipient for as long as it is required. We operate from a room at the North end of the Orcas Senior Center.

Hours of Operation

The Orcas Lions Club Volunteers are at the Senior Center every Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 am -11:00 am, and Friday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. We ask that those needing to borrow equipment visit during those hours. In that way, we can endeavor to provide the most appropriate equipment for your situation. For those with an urgent need or who cannot get to the Senior Center during these time periods, the Senior Center’s Receptionist Volunteers have access to the equipment.
