Surrey School District Breakfast Program
The North Surrey Lions Club is dedicated to ensuring that no child in our community starts the school day hungry.
We proudly raise funds to support the Breakfast Program in the Surrey School District.
Unfortunately, a growing number of families are facing food insecurity, making this program more important than ever.
We host a Meat Draw and 50/50 Draw every Sunday from 1 PM to 4 PM at Donegal's Irish House.
Every dollar raised goes directly toward feeding students, giving them the energy and focus they need to thrive in the classroom.
We’d love for you to join us, have fun, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of local children.
Together, we can ensure that every student has the nourishment they need to succeed!
Card Program
The North Surrey Lions Club believes in the power of connection and kindness, especially during holiday seasons.
Through our Card Writing Program, we send heartfelt cards to individuals in our community who may be isolated or homebound.
Whether they are seniors, individuals with mobility challenges, or those without close family nearby, our goal is to bring them a sense of warmth and joy.
A simple card with a thoughtful message can make a meaningful difference, reminding them that they are valued and not alone.
Used Eyeglasses Collection
Our Club proudly participates in the Canadian Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre (CLERC) program, an initiative dedicated to providing the gift of sight to those in need.
Through this program, we collect used eyeglasses and recycle them to be distributed free of charge to individuals in developing countries who lack access to proper vision care.
Many people around the world struggle with impaired vision simply because they cannot afford eyeglasses, and through this initiative, we help improve their quality of life by providing clear sight for work, education, and daily activities.
Donated eyeglasses are carefully sorted, cleaned, and categorized before being shipped to clinics and outreach programs where they are matched to individuals in need. We encourage our community members to contribute by dropping off their used prescription glasses, reading glasses, and sunglasses at one of our Eyeglass Collection Sites.
Every donation makes a difference, transforming someone's world by giving them the ability to see more clearly.
Visit our Eyeglass Collection Sites page to find the nearest drop-off location and join us in making a lasting impact.
Surrey Christmas Bureau Adopt-A-Family
The North Surrey Lions Club is proud to partner with the Surrey Christmas Bureau each year to bring joy and relief to families in need during the holiday season.
Through this partnership, we help deliver food hampers and gifts to ensure that every child experiences the magic of Christmas, regardless of financial hardship.
Our members work closely with the Bureau, donating time, resources, and effort to support local families and spread holiday cheer throughout the community.
The Ken Nore Scholarship Program
The North Surrey Lions Club is committed to supporting the future of our community by investing in education.
Thanks to a generous endowment from Lion Ken Nore, we proudly offer three $5,000 scholarships each year to graduating Surrey high school students.
These scholarships are designed to recognize academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement, helping deserving students pursue their post-secondary dreams.
Through this initiative, we continue our mission of service by empowering the next generation with the resources they need to succeed.
