The New York Mills Lions Club was chartered in the fall of 1968.  At the start, meetings were held twice a month as recommended by Lions Clubs International, but attendance was low.  In September of 1971, with only nine members in attendance, it was suggested to meet only once a month.  After that, our attendance increased and our membership grew.
