Thank you for visiting the Newport Lions Club website, serving the beautiful “City by the Sea” - Newport, Rhode Island since 1923. Our membership is diverse, but we all share the belief that we can make a positive difference in the lives of our neighbors.

The Newport Lions Charitable Foundation is our 501(c)3 and is responsible for distributing grant money to our various service projects.

Some of our service projects include;

  • Eye screening in public and private schools on Aquidneck Island
  • Recycling eyeglasses to be distributed worldwide
  • White Cane Day - raising funds for guide dogs at the FIDELCO Guide Dog Foundation
  • Support Our Troops – donating to organizations that help returning veterans
  • Camp Mauchatea - providing a scholarship for a sight-impaired child to experience a week at summer camp
  • Adopt A Family - subsidizing parents stay at Ronald McDonald House while their child is being treated at Hasbro Childrens' Hospital

If you or your friends or family members would like to become involved in an upcoming project, find out more about the Newport Lions, or join our club, please contact us at

We meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 6:00 PM at The Mainstay Hotel & Conference Center (151 Admiral Kalbfus Rd., Newport, RI). Come join us!
