Meetings
  • In keeping with the tradition of Lions involvement in sight-saving and blind projects, Newark Lions has been providing eye examinations and glasses, if needed, to children in local schools. In the past few years, school nurses have requested and received assistance for as many as one hundred children.

  • We have furnished white canes for distribution by the Center for the Visually Impaired. Also, one of the club's members has for years served on the center's board.

  • We contribute annually to the "Lions Scholarship Fund" for seniors in high school.

  • We support and attend the "Student of the Month Club" for Newark City Schools.

  • We are voluntarily involved with the transfer of donated eyes to and from Licking Memorial Hospital and the Columbus Eye Bank located at Ohio State University.

  • We contribute annually to several Lions International projects including International Relations; Ohio Pilot Dogs, Inc.; and the Lions Diabetes Fund.
