ANNUAL EYE & HEALTH SCREENING
IMMOKALEE, FLORIDA
Adult Vision and Health Screening is done in Immokalee, FL. Lions Clubs of Dist. 35-I at the ITECH Center Immokalee. Between 200 and 300 adults are screened for Diabetes, Hypertension, Vision Abnormalities, Glaucoma, etc. Eye glasses are given to needy residents free of charge from donated glasses given to Lions Clubs. Many Lions from District 35-I volunteer for these screenings as well as student nurses from the ITECH School Of Nursing, 75 Volunteer workers and LEOs (student volunteers)--- Lions Clubs represented--Bonita Springs, Estero So.Ft.Myers, Ft. Myers High Noon, Lehigh Acres, Lehigh Nites, Marco Island, Naples Nites, Naples Lions Club.

Senior Friendship Center, Medical Dental Clinic of Naples, Medical Students from Florida State University, Social Service Agency of Immokalee, LEO,s from Bonita Springs and Charlotte County Lions Opticians, and Opticians from Lenscrafters. and five retired ophthalmologists -- and a special thanks to the Interperters and community workers.
PEDIATRIC AND VISION AND HEARING SCREENINGS
The Naples Lions club works together with the Early Learning Coalition of SW Florida to screen preschool children ages 2-5 in day care centers in Collier and Lee Counties. Last year we screened 600 children and found 45 children who were referred for complete eye and/or hearing examinations. This will catch Amblyopia "Lazy Eye" at an early age and allow easier and more complete treatment and vision recovery.

Join us for our Regularly scheduled Candy Day's at the various shopping centers in Naples in early November and Easter or early March. Other candy days scheduled around various stores and locations. Donations go to fund our community service programs.
