NAKIVALE LIGHT IN THE REFUGEE CONTEXT
Lions Club of Nakivale Light was chartered on 29th June, 2024 by the Lions Club International through the representation of the district 411B governor. The Lions Club of Nakivale Light formerly consist of refugees’ leaders, change makers, and other relevant persons who have eagerness to serve the most vulnerable people in the refugees’ community.
Lions Club of Nakivale Light in refugee context is the injured persons who fled from their homelands due to the political conflicts in Africa continent to seek protection in Uganda, southwest, Isingiro District, Nakivale Refugee Settlement and are registered with the office of United Nations for High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), and Office of Prime Minister (OPM).
The lions club members are refugees from different countries of Africa continent such as Burundi, Congo, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Eritrea and Rwanda who are committed to empower other most vulnerable refugees to meet the basic needs through promotion of the goals of Lions Club international with compliance of code of conduct, policies and terms and condition of Lions Club International.
