Marlborough & District Lions Club Inc.
What are Lions about?
Since the first club was formed in Australia 75 years ago, Lions has grown dramatically with over 1200 clubs and 22,000 members giving back through an array of community-based programs and initiatives.
#WE SERVE and have been doing it for over 40 years.
Our club was chartered in 1981 and still going strong with 13 members because where there is a need, there is a Lion. We have a range of members with different interests and while some prefer more traditional projects others continue to work with local businesses, organisations and council to strengthen our community.
There is no stopping us, our club is strengthened by our neighbouring Lions Clubs’ supporters’. Together Lions Club of Emu Park, Gracemere, Rockhampton, Rockhampton – Fitzroy River, The Caves & District and Yeppoon help us get things done and lend a hand at every opportunity.
These video stories provide an insight as to what it means to be a Lion.

The Club Projects page on this site provides a brief outline of some of the projects and fundraising efforts our Club is involved with.
We also have a mobile Coldroom/Freezer unit available to the public for hire. It comes with 2 butcher rails and shelving. A generator is also available for non powered sites. Please email marlborooughanddistrictlci@gmail.com if you would like to support our club by hiring this equipment.
What’s in it for you?
“Being a Lion provides an opportunity to help others, the environment our local community and wider world we live in.” Leni Moodie

Membership Fees
Fees include providing services, support and insurance to members.
It is important to know that 100% of funds Lions raise from the community is used for community service purposes. None of the community service funds raised go towards the administration costs of running our organisation.
Whilst it is encouraged for every Lions member to pay a one-time application fee upon joining, as well as a 6-month membership fee that costs less than a weekly cup of coffee, our club choose to pay all membership fees out of our administrative income. These fees are covered by our clubs’ members active participation to obtain club administrative income through a LSC contract and collection of Containers for Change.
Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
