LION DELHIA KING

It is with profound regret that the Lions Club of Kingstown-SVG announces the passing of Lion Delhia King who served our Club with a high level of commitment over the past seven years. She was particularly adept in serving on the Fundraising and Projects Committees and also held positions on the Club's Board of Directors.

Lion Delhia's funeral mass and burial took place in her community of Biabou on Saturday 21st September, 2019.  Several of our members turned up at the St. Matthew's Anglican Church to show their last respect and to offer condolences to the bereaved family.  A few members of the Lions Club South and a Leo Club member were also in attendance. The funeral procession from the church to the cemetery was led by the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Band.

May her souls rest in eternal peace.

TRIBUTE TO  PAST LION GLORIA BALLANTYNE a former member of Lions Club St. Vincent and Lions Club Kingstown-SVG.

Gloria Ballantyne was a household name among the Lions Clubs in the Kingstown community. She was very much indentified with the work of the blind and visually impaired persons in SVG. As one of the Charter Members of Lions Club Kingstown-SVG, Lion Gloria was responsible for reporting on the workshop for the blind which she managed. She was the principal organiser of the annual Christmas Luncheon for the Society of and for the Blind, hosted by the Lions Club of Kingstown, over many years.

Our Club extends deepest condolences on her recent passing, in rememberance of her dedication and selflessness to humanitarian service in the community. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

TRIBUTE TO LION ELSA SCOTT

Elsa Magdalene Scott, a former member of the Lioness Club of St. Vincent, Lions Club of St. Vincent West and Lions Club of Kingstown-SVG, passed to the great beyond in the final week of May, 2015.   She was a committed member of the Lions movement in St. Vincent, even though her enterprising business prevented her from attending club meetings.   In recognition of her many years of service, the Kingstown-SVG Lions Club awarded her a "Life Membership" in 2014.  Lion Elsa S would be remembered for her gentle manner and enduring smile.  A funeral mass, at which the Lions were represented, was held in celebration of the life of  Lion Elsa Scott on Thursday 4th June, 2015 at St. George's Cathedral, Kingstown.   She was 97 years of age at the time of her passing.

"Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her".

TRIBUTE TO LION PEARL HERBERT

Lion Pearl Felicia Herbert was a member of the Lioness Club of St. Vincent from 1982 - 1992.  She was also one of the 20 Charter Members of the Lions Club of St. Vincent West who was inducted on September 12th, 1992.   She later became a member of the Lions Club of Kingstown-SVG following the merger of two clubs in 2002.

During her active years as a Lion, Lion Pearl served as President, Secretary - a position for which she was well suited, Treasurer, Membership Director and Tail-Twister extraordinaire.  She could be described as jovial, committed, strong, positive and methodical.

When illness prevented her from attending meetings, the club extended to her the offer of Privileged Member, which she graciously accepted, and which resulted in her remaining a Lion up to the time of her passing.

The Lions Club of Kingstown-SVG and indeed the entire lionistic family, take this opportunity to extend deepest condolences to her family and relatives.  May her soul Rest In Peace.
