Kapan Lions Club

The Lions Club of Kathmandu Kapan, based in Kathmandu, is a newly established chapter committed to serving vulnerable communities through impactful, grassroots initiatives. Guided by the global mission of Lions Clubs International, our club focuses on addressing some of the most pressing challenges faced by underserved populations in Nepal—ranging from hunger and health awareness to education and disaster relief.

Our work is rooted in direct community engagement. In recent efforts, we have successfully organized hunger relief programs benefiting over 200 individuals in local neighborhoods, providing essential food supplies to families facing severe food insecurity. Building on this momentum, we are expanding our outreach through a series of upcoming projects, including diabetes awareness campaigns, winter clothing distribution for vulnerable communities, and disaster preparedness initiatives to support those affected by natural crises.

A key priority for our club is empowering future generations through education. Our Community School Support Program aims to improve school infrastructure by providing essential learning materials and building safe, hygienic sanitation facilities for girls. This initiative is expected to positively impact more than 1,000 students, helping create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.

In addition to community-wide programs, we remain deeply committed to individual humanitarian support. We continue to assist those in extreme need—such as elderly individuals without family support—ensuring they have access to basic necessities like food, shelter, and medical care.

Through collaboration with partners like the Menomonie Wisconsin Lions Club and the support of generous donors, we are working to create lasting change in our community.
