Workshop held by consultant obstetrician and gynecologist Lion Dr P A Denegama for O/L students of Mahawelipura Vidyalaya at Suriyapura, Kanthale on 1st April 2009.

2ND Project
Surgical clinic at Thoppur Hospital was held on 3rd July 2009.This was conducted with the participation of Lion Dr S S Edirimuni, Consultant surgeon, and Lion Dr.P.A.Denegama, Consultant obstetrician and gynecologist, Lion Dr Madu Sirinaga Amarasinghe, Mr.U S D Yatawara and Mr Prasanna. 148 patients were benefited and out of that 56 patients have undergone relevant surgeries at B H Kanthale. 25 patients were directed to clinics for follow-up.

3rd Project
On 29-07-2009, Lion Dr S S Edirimuni, consultant surgeon, conducted a lecture and workshop on the management of wounds to facilitate the care of wounds of thousand odd IDP patients who were brought to B H Kanthale from war affected North. 50 hospital staff personnel participated.

4th Project
On 30-07-2009 morning, Lions clubs of Trincomalee Central and Kanthale Heroes conducted a surgical and gynaecological clinic at Echchalampattu Hospital Premises. Echchalampattu which was under LTTE control is poorly facilitated and is situated about 70 Kilometers away from Kanthale. This clinic was conducted by Lion Dr S S Edirimuni, consultant surgeon, Lion Dr P A Denegama, consultant obstetrician and gynecologist, with the participation of Lion Dr G J Anthony Pillai, Lion Dr Madu Sirinaga Amarasinghe, Dr K P G Rajitha, Lion N R P Jayathilake and Mr Prasanna and Mr Piyatilake. 70 patients including an advanced leprosy patient were benefited.

5th Project
On 30-07-2009 afternoon, Lions clubs of Trincomalee Central and Kanthale Heroes conducted a surgical and gynaecological clinic at Serunuwara Hospital Premises which is situated about 40 Kilometers away from Kanthale. This clinic was conducted by Lion Dr S S Edirimuni, consultant surgeon, Lion Dr P A Denegama, consultant obstetrician and gynecologist, with the participation of Lion Dr G J Anthony Pillai, Lion Dr Madu Sirinaga Amarasinghe, Dr K P G Rajitha, Lion N R P Jayathilake, Medical Officer in charge of Serunuwara Hospital and Mr Prasanna and Mr Piyatilake. 77 patients patients were benefited.

6th Project
All the lions clubs in the District of Trincomalee gathered at Thampalakamam Vidyalayam on the 05th of August, 2009. Lions of the lions club of Kanthale heroes Marched with their medical team to make the medical camp a success. This clinic was conducted by Lion Dr S S Edirimuni, consultant surgeon, Lion Dr P A Denegama, consultant obstetrician and gynecologist, with the participation of Lion Dr G J Anthony Pillai, Lion Dr Madu Sirinaga Amarasinghe,Lion Dr Mrs Thiruchelvum of Trincomalee Hospital and Mr U S D Yatawara. 120 patients were benefited.

Eye clinic at Central College, Kanthale on 19.09.2009

Identified cataract in 48 patients
Offered glasses to 107 patients.
9th Project
Mega Medical Clinic at Kaladi, Lankapatuna, Trincomalee which is about 100 Km away from Kanthale. This was done together with the Kanthale Heroes Club.

Ultrasound Scanner was available and 20 ultrasound scans were done.
