April E-news

Greetings Isle Lions. Do you remember the saying "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb"? I think this March is going out like a Lion!  Must be role reversal!

Here are some hi-lites and news for our Isle Lions Club.
The date for assembling Easter bags for Isle Elementary students has been changed to Tuesday, April 4th. Volunteers should meet at the Elementary Library at 4:00 PM on Tuesday. Lots of hands will make this project go quickly.
Our April General Meeting will be onMonday, April 10th at the Wahkon Inn. Social time starts at 6:00 PM with the dinner and business meeting to follow at 6:30 PM. Please let your caller know if you will be attending the meeting and dinner.
Thei Finlayson-Geise Lions Club will be celebrating their 40th Anniversary on May 20th with a social time at 5:00 PM and dinner at 6:00 PM.. Our Isle Lions Club was the club that sponsored their club. The Finlayson-Giese Lions club has invited all Isle Lion club members to attend their celebration event. Our club will pay for the dinner cost for any Isle Lions club member who wants to attend this celebration. Please let our treasurer Marlene Moss know if you would like to attend. Since RSVPs are due on April 20th, please let Marlene know at the April General meeting.
Our April board meeting will be held at 6:30 PM on Monday, April 24th at the IREC.
Our sympathy to Lion Lenore Bryant on the death of her mother Ione Bryant. Please keep Lenore in your prayers during this time of sadness and loss.
The "eventual" coming of spring and summer means that our Lions club activities and projects will become more frequent. Please remember to volunteer for activities where you can help our club and serve our community. We do make a difference in this community!
Judy and I look forward to seeing everyone at the April general meeting.
Doug Halvorson, Past President,

E-NEWS March 2023

Greetings, Isle Lions.

I hope you are all enjoying the almost spring-like weekend.

Here are a couple of news items for the next few weeks.

Our Lions Club does not hold a general business meeting and dinner in March.
The board meeting on Monday, March 27th will serve as both a board meeting and a general meeting. The board meeting is at 6:30 PM at the IREC Community Room. Any member is welcome to attend the meeting.
On Monday, April 3rd, our Lions Club will assemble Easter gift bags for the Isle Elementary students. Volunteers are needed to help with this project. Everyone who wants to help should meet at 4:00 PM in the Isle Elementary Library.

I have attached a flyer for a fundraiser for Joe Schweich which will be held at McQuiod's on Saturday, March 18th. Joe has been battling cancer. Isle Lions might remember that Joe and his two sons provided musical entertainment at our club's 50th anniversary  celebration. The fundraiser will be a good way to help Joe.
Our next general meeting with dinner will be held on Monday, April 10th.
Stay safe and stay healthy. Best wishes to everyone.

Doug Halvorson
Past President, Isle Lions
