We are dependent on you for the money that we divert to the needs of our area, for the time, expertise and commitment of local businesses that willingly give that time and expertise to help us to achieve some benefit to our town. We frown on but, do not entirely condemn the graffiti artists, vandal and opportunist thieves of our town. Just what can we offer to a healthy virile teenager , whose family are unable or unwilling to guide him or her in the right direction? Consider the case of a “lower decile” person who out of shear boredom has been watching the aspirants to fame on the ASB classic tennis programme. Trying to emulate those aspirants is undeniably a worth while achievement, but how far do you get if you do not have a tennis racquet or even an opponent to practise against ?
Lions are not in favour of the much publicised “Welfare State “of years past. But! If you wish to break out of the eternal round of subsidised rents, family benefits, food banks, etc. etc. which after all is provided by your neighbours, then you may be surprised at the amount of help that ia on offer, not only from lions, in your community.
