2018/2019 Service Project – SMART Elderly SMART Life

The Global Service Framework focuses the efforts of Lions and Leos on five service areas (Diabetes, Environment, Hunger Relief, Pediatric Cancer and Vision) with the goal of tripling our humanitarian impact.  It complements all of the great ways clubs serve locally, and gives Lions and Leos new opportunities to help meet the growing challenges facing humanity.

1.  November 2018 – Kick off ceremony cum Pet Pet Walk
This year, Lions Club of Central aimed to arouse public awareness and concerns on Dementia.  We have organized a series of programs for the elderly in order to let them and their carer to understand more on this issue.

2.  January 2019 – Chinese New Year Luncheon for Elderly

We have invited over 600 elderly to join our annual luncheon to celebrate the coming of the Chinese New Year.  This year, we have “Fai Chun” booth for eldery to get their lucky words from us.  Also, we have invited a nurse to give elderly some tips in the daily life so as to train their brain.  Of course, we have lots of entertainment programs to entertain elderly during the luncheon.

3. April 2019 – SMART Elderly SMART Life

We are going to organize a music therapy with the help of Sha Tin Multi-Service Centre for the Elderly and visit a SMART HOME to show them how music can help to train up their brain and a SMART HOME can facilitate a better living.
