The Lions of Hillsboro try to help others in the community.  As the motto of Lions is "WE SERVE", our members try to adhere to the motto within our community, our state, our nation and even internationally. This is done in many ways throughout the year. Gor the Lion year 2023-2024 our club members totaled 80 hours of service per member and the majority of our service was for the benefit of the school children.

We are now providing Vision  Screenings to four schools. We purchased and donated an audiometer to the Washington Elementary School and the Hillsboro-Deering Elementary School.

Since 2006, when records were started to be kept, we have provided over 20,000 books to the grade schools under the Reading is FUNdamental program which we have conducted for over 35 years. 

We recycle eyeglasses and hearing aids and donate can tops to the Shriners.

There are currently 14 members in the club.

We are known as the "Home of the Active Lions"

Our club completed 71 years since its charter on March 31, 1953
