His energetic and mindful compositions celebrate the fusion of cosmopolitan ideas with Afrikan spirituality. Rooted in the musical traditions and the contemporary aesthetics of his home continent, the pianist and composer are following international routes in Afro Jazz, enriching the genre by blending various styles to a unique atmospheric experience. Dapo Dina has worked with internationally renowned artists from many genres, and jazz greats such as Danilo Pérez, Judith Sephuma, Pops Mohammed, Jimmi Dludlu, George Duke, Jonathan Butler und Themba Mkhize, as well as pop and gospel artists such as Lira, Uche, KB, Lagbaja, Kunle Ayo, HHP, Revolution, Thandiswa, Lulu and Sleek Angel. He is inspired by Herbie Hancock, Richard Bona, Danilo Pérez, Chick Corea, and many more. He performed at various festivals such as the Joy of Jazz Festival in South Africa, is touring internationally and is a well-known artist in the global musical scene – most likely to be found sharing his vibe in one of Johannesburg's jazz hotspots if not on tour.
