Eyeglasses and Vision

Vision has been a focus of Lions Clubs since 1925 when Hellen Keller challenged us to become "knights of the blind".  The organization focuses on persons with blindness and treatment and prevention of eye disease.  We provide vision assistance devices and recycle and distribute used eyeglasses.

The Grand Forks Lions Club, in conjunction with South Forks Lions Club and Red River Lions Club, and Valley Vision, has established the Joint Sight and Hearing Committee (JSHC).  The JSHC works with local Grand Forks area school officials to screen and identify school-age children who need assistance with vision-related issues.  JSHC provides financial assistance when appropriate.  The current JSHC point of contact is:

Lion Charlie Zick, (701) 775-5739, chzick@gra.midco.net
