Fruitland Park Lions Club supports many organizations, mostly local to Fruitland Park and Leesburg, Florida. Here are the organizations that we currently support (Click on the graphic to link to their websites):
Fruitland Park Lions Club provides two $2,000 scholarships each year to Leesburg and Fruitland Park High School students. Transforming lives and futures throughout our community.
Fruitland Park Lions Club is currently sponsoring Kiva, a puppy in training to become a guiding eye dog for a blind person. Leader Dog Programs give people who are blind the tools, skills and confidence to travel independently and safely, free of charge.
This is Kiva. Kiva will change someone's life! Kiva will spend the first year of her life with a puppy raiser, who will teach her the basics of being a good "citizen." Then she will be returned to Leader Dogs for four to six months of intensive training before she is matched with a person with blindness at no charge.
Fruitland Park Lions Club is currently supporting Canine Companions, who have just celebrated their 50th year of service. They provide support dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities and facility dogs to professionals working in healthcare, criminal justice and educational settings.
We are sponoring Winston, a puppy in training. After a puppy raiser guides Winston through the first year of his life with basic obedience and socialization training, Winston will be matched with an individual with need for a support dog.
Fruitland Park Lions proudly supports Conklin Davis Center for the Visually Impaired. Located in Daytona, Florida, Conklin Davis prepares visionally impaired people to successfully navigate and live in a sighted world. Their services include daily-living training such as cooking, cleaning and laundry, as well as vocational training, training to travel the local bus system, and on-going support for graduates.
Fruitland Park Lions supports our community by providing eye exams and glasses to our neighbors in Fruitland Park and Leesburg Florida who can't afford them.
Fruitland Park Lions supports the Holy Trinity Episcapal School. Holy Trinity Episcopal School is rooted in inclusive educational practices. They concentrate on each student’s individual learning need, providing high quality instruction based on state standards, as well as specialized instruction in identified areas such as Foundational Reading and Math, Executive Functioning, Social Understanding, Character Formation and Spirituality.
Leesburg's New Vision for Independence is another recipient of Fruitland Park Lions Club. New Vision for Independence mission is to eliminate barriers to independence for people with vision loss through rehabilitation, community education, advocacy, and support services.
Bless Fruitland Park is an ongoing effort of individuals, churches, businesses, local town officials, civic and social groups in the Fruitland Park area that are committed to working together to make a difference and create an atmosphere of partnership and generosity within our Fruitland Park Community. Fruitland Park Lions is part of this group.
On August 20, 2025, Fruitland Park Lions attended an award ceremony where Bless Fruitland Park awarded a check for $26,000 to Fruitland Park Elementary School and Bevery Shores Elementary School.
