April, 2020  Newsletter
District Governor Lion Debbie Condon was the featured speaker at the March 9th meeting. She spoke about the ambitious goals to grow membership. The program is called North American Membership Initiative (NAMI). The dynamics of society are changing and Lions Clubs need to make our organization more relevant to these new demographics.
Lion Dan gave the first reading of the nominating committee's slate of Lions Officers for the 2020-2021 year: President, Russ Turk; 1st Vice President, Dave Ring; 2nd Vice President, Mason Becker; 3rd Vice President, Rob Stine; Secretary, Lisa Hood; Treasurer, Steve Schafer; Lion Tamer, Nate Dunlap; Tail Twister, Dan Weber; Asst. Tail Twister, Tom Emrick; Financial Secretary, Michelle Ebbert; Membership Chairman, Kevin Becker; Board of Directors, 2020‑2022 Carl Baio and Nancy Onufer, 2019-2021 Glen Schaefer and Bob Rose; Service Director, Donna Petersen.
The first March meeting looks to be our last meeting for a while with the onset of COVID-19. Protect your health and minimize opportunities where you could be at risk. While you will not see your fellow Lions for a while, consider reaching out to them with a phone call or email. We are a social group, and not chatting with our friends before a meeting makes this time apart difficult for our members.
Lion Mike Drew, West Allis Lions Club, Lion Debbie Condon, District Governor and Lion David Stedman, 2nd District Governor Elect
March 23rd Meeting: The Melvin Jones Award presentation has been postponed.  Because the second March meeting was canceled, this newsletter serves as the second reading of the slate of Lions Officers for the 2020-2021 year. Comments or additions to the slate should be directed to Lion John Anderson by email (>) or phone call to 920-723-0490.
April 17th: Smelt Fry is cancelled. Members are asked to return the money to those who purchased tickets. The winning ticket for our Quilt Raffle will still be drawn at the Municipal Building on this day.
Our park clean up and highway cleanup activities are under consideration for postponement.  We are still hopeful that we will be able to have SCARP this year and host the District Golf on July 16.
