GENERAL
Committee members ultimately are responsible for the actions and results of the committee of which they are a member. Input from the whole club should be requested and used when appropriate for making decisions on those actions. The club as a whole has the authority to override any committee’s decision.
SOFTBALL COMMITTEE
Set up and manage all softball leagues. This includes setting and collecting league fees. Setting up league rules and schedules. Maintaining league standings. Address any issues concerning problem teams or players and taking appropriate action. Distributing prizes when the leagues have ended.
Set up and manage softball tournaments. Set entry fees and prize payouts. Distribute prizes to teams at end of tournament. Coordinate timing of these events with other committees.
Hire and pay umpires for league and tournament games. Set umpire salaries.
Hire and pay announcers for tournament games. Set per game payouts.
GROUNDS COMMITTEE
Responsible for the condition and readiness of all club facilities. Makes sure the diamond is ready before the start of the season, during league, and for tournaments. This includes the grounds, equipment, lights, score board, and buildings / bleachers.
Responsible to take the lead on and coordinating the development of all park improvements including new building and remodeling of existing facilities.
Advises club when maintenance is needed. Lines up potential vendors to perform needed services including obtaining bids for service. Addressing scheduling work days with the club. Responsible to line up supplies needed for work days.
Puts out bids for lawn mowing and diamond prep. Insure availability of supplies needed for diamond maintenance. Responsible to insure winning bidder performs task as bid.
Decides if field can be played on for league and tournament games. Sets up and maintains softball voicemail service including messages on league games.
Responsible for administrating advertiser signs at the ballpark.
REFRESHMENT COMMITTEE
Order drinks and food for all for activities including the softball tournament. Insure adequate supplies are on hand for each day of the event. Set up and maintain good working relationships with established vendors for delivery of these goods. Negotiate vendor fees for products being purchased.
Responsible for setting up the menu and pricing for all refreshments.
Responsible for setting up club get together such as the Christmas party and fall appreciation dinner. The refreshment committee will coordinate getting bids and options on where these get together are held or who caters for them. This is then presented to the club for club approval.
Sets up the food and beverage sale work schedules.
WELFARE COMMITTEE
Responsible for sending condolence, sympathy, get well, congratulatory cards and monetary checks for members and their families as outline in the club’s rules.
Coordinates the selection and distribution of Christmas fruit baskets for shut-ins.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
Obtains lists of graduating high school seniors for scholarship consideration. Also make recommendations on the number and amount of scholarships.
Follows up with students who put in claims for the scholarships
Sets guidelines for scholarships
ADVISORY COMMITTEE
This committee serves as a guidance committee for the club and oversees the activities of the club.
