A Day Out With Thomas
Valley Railroad Concession

The Essex Lions have proudly operated the main concession stand for the Valley Railroad’s Day Out With Thomas event for several years. We offer a variety of popular food items, including hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets, fried dough, fries, and more. This concession stand is an integral part of the event, running two weekends each spring. It has become our club’s largest fundraiser, serving thousands of guests each year. The success of this event is made possible through the dedication and teamwork of volunteers from Valley Regional High School, Lion members, and their friends and families. Their continued support ensures that this event remains a highlight for the community each year.

Each year, the Essex Lions send out a heartfelt letter to the residents of Essex, Ivoryton, Centerbrook, and Westbrook, raising funds to support local non-profits and make a positive impact on our community.
