Where there's a need, there's a Lion....
Ellsworth Lions Annual Fishing Derby - First Sunday in June at Nugget Lake County Park
Every year the Ellsworth Lions club sponsers a free fishing derby at our local county park, Nugget Lake. Kids under 16 are encouraged to enter the fishing contest and are eligible to enter into a no-cost raffle for prizes. In 2024 we gave away 2 Kayaks along other large prizes and awarded trophies in various categories. No fishing licenses are required for this day of fishing.
No fishing pole? No Problem. Thanks to generous donations, we have free fishing poles available for you to keep.
We also provide Food, candy and beverages for sale.
Fun for the whole family! Come on out to Nugget Lake County Park and experience Pierce County's best kept secret! Check out our photo gallery for more pictures from the 2024 event!

Every Spring and Fall the Ellsworth Lions sponsors a Thrift Sale at the Zion Covenant Church as part of the 100 Miles of Little Town Thrift Sales—WI HWY 10. We bring in a huge variety of items from our members and you can shop in a nice location with bathroom access. Items are available for a free will donation and all proceeds will go to a local non-profit or charity that is designated prior to the sale. The next sale will be September 19-21 2024.

Together in the Park Thursdays - Ellsworth Farmer's Market
The Ellsworth Lions Club and the Ellsworth Public Library team up on specific Thursday evenings during the Ellsworth Farmer's Market. The Library provides entertainment and activities for the kids and the Lions serve a free meal of hot dogs, chips and water. This summer's sessions wrapped up on Thursday July 25, 2024. We ran out of hot dogs but had many satisfied customers.
Peace Poster Contest
For peace to be anything more than a possibility, we need to make it a priority. This year, we’re asking our young students to create a poster that speaks to our world’s infinite potential for kindness once we commit to pursuing the idea of peace without limits.
Students ages 11, 12 or 13 as of November 15, 2024 are eligible to participate in the International Peace Poster Contest
Stay tuned for more details regarding this opportunity for the young people of our community.
