An Invitation To Join the East Providence

                         Lions Club

From a global perspective, Lions club members are important. Members enable clubs to meet diverse local and international needs. Individually and together with their club, Lions take on projects as varied as cleaning up neighborhood recreational areas as well as addressing international issues, developing interpersonal relationships, and fulfilling club as well as individual potential.

The primary focus of the East Providence Lions Club is on rendering aid (but not limited to) the visually impaired members of our community as well as worldwide. We finance these efforts mainly through our annual pancake breakfast as well as smaller fundraisers from time to time.

  • The East Providence Lions fund annual scholarships for high school students residing in the city including those who may attend private institutions outside the community (see our Scholarships page).
  • The club actively supports and assists the ongoing efforts of Rhode Island District 42 through the district Sight Foundation initiative as well as the Cancer in Children program (administered in conjunction with Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence RI).
  • Last but certainly not least, the East Providence Lions support applications for financial aid for various requests received from community organizations as well as individuals in need.

Membership to the club is open to all individuals and couples. The club meets on the 2nd Wednesday at Davenport’s Restaurant for dinner meetings beginning at 7:00 PM. We normally do not meet from the middle of June to the first week in September. Occasionally we have a guest speaker.

Fees: Individual memberships are currently $60 annually; family memberships are offered at a discounted rate of $80. A portion of the dues are allocated to Lions International and Rhode Island Lions District 42 to support global and state efforts.
