RULES FOR THE SOLO INSTRUMENT COMPETITION

The event will take place on Saturday, February 24, 10 30 am to 4 pm

1. It is open to Stringed, Woodwind and Brass Instruments and Solo Keyboard
2. The Competition will consist of three groups — School years 1-6, 7-11 and 12-13
3. There will be Monetary Prizes for the highest placed Candidates in each category
4. Candidates will be required to play two pieces and the Programme should be balanced and show contrast and not EXCEED SEVEN MINUTES in total
5. Candidates will not be expected to play from memory at any stage of the Competition.
6. Candidates may perform with their own Accompanist or the official Accompanist which will be provided for the Competition
7. Original Music should be used for the Candidate and the Accompanist with a photocopy available for the Adjudicators. Please send with application
8. The decision of the Adjudicators will be final
9. The Competition will start at 10.30 am
