About Us:
Started in 1954, The Coon Rapids Lions Club has been a vital part of the City and surrounding area. The Coon Rapids Lions Club has been serving this area longer than any other service organization in the community and five years prior to the incorporation of the City of Coon Rapids. Over the years, the Coon Rapids Lions Club has had hundreds of members that have devoted thousands of hours towards making our community the wonderful place it is today.

We, the Lions, enjoy working to better the lives and well-being of all people in our community through the our local efforts which is in support of the Lions Club International global causes. Some of these efforts include:

  • Lions serve to reduce the prevalance of diabetes and improve quality of life for those diagnosed with it.
  • Lions serve to prevent avoidable blindness and inprove the quality of life for people who are blind and visually impaired
  • Lions serve to ensure all community members have access to nutritious foods.
  • Lions serve to sustainably protect and restore our environment.
  • Lions provide support for the needs of children and families affected by childhood cancer through impactful service activities.
  • Lions raise funds for diaster relief around the world.

Locally, Coon Rapids Lions volunteer at, and raise funds for, local organizations such as the ACBC Emergency Food Shelf, Alexandra House Women's Shelter and Stepping Stone Homeless Shelter, the Mercy Hospital Wellness Van, Can-Do Canines and Feed My Starving Children.

The Lions motto is “We Serve”.
