family-friendly strides event to promotes diabetes awareness and the importance of healthy living through educational materials and group participation in physical activity in partnership with American Diabetes Association – Rocky Mountain Area

Proceeds benefit youth ages 8 to 17 campership. Sponsorships available

Sign-in/Registration: 11am: Guest Presenter: 11:30am; Walk: 12:15pm

When you donate:

You spread awareness of the devastating effects of diabetes.
You advocate for a child discriminated against in school because of diabetes.
You provide access to community programs and free resources that help those living with diabetes
By participating in Team Diabetes, we hope to inspire others to join us and raise money. 

ADA Camp Colorado is a lifeline for children with diabetes to develop the critical skills needed to thrive while managing diabetes.

Gather your family, friends and neighbors to walk in the Strides event.   This is an enjoyable way for the community to join together in the fight against diabetes.

Lions organize the Strides event in the local community to heighten awareness of diabetes and its complications and to provide information on preventing and managing the disease. 

Strides events promote regular, healthy exercise and include participants of all ages.

 

Lions celebrate 2024 World Diabetes Day 

World Diabetes Day was created in 1991 by IDF and the World Health Organization in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetesWorld Diabetes Day became an official United Nations Day in 2006 with the passage of United Nations Resolution 61/225

World Diabetes Day is the world’s largest diabetes awareness campaign reaching a global audience of over 1 billion people in more than 160 countries. The campaign draws attention to issues of paramount importance to the diabetes world and keeps diabetes firmly in the public and political spotlight. It is marked every year on 14 November, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922.

Colorado Rocky Mountain Cyber & District 6C Lions clubs raise funds for boys and girls with diabetes to attend American Diabetes Association Colorado Camp.

 

 District 6C is proposing the formation of a new Lions club with focus on Diabetes. Please submit names, contact info for persons you think may be interested to:

The new club will operate as a regular club and can choose to be a traditional or cyber club to meet members' schedules.
