Our club has the honor of organizing the placement of organizations in the town's Fourth of July and Christmas parades. The club assists other community organizations through monetary donations. We fund our donations through broom and mop sales, as well as our popular homemade ice cream sales during these area events: Clifton Forge School of the Arts' (CFSOTA) MayFaire, Clifton Forge's Fourth of July celebration, Douthat State Park's "Campsite Cook-Off Oktoberfest," the Clifton Forge Shriner's Fall Foilage Festival, and the CFSOTA's "Kriskindlmarkt" in November.

Our club helps to ensure that members of the public receive free eye examinations and glasses, if they cannot afford to pay those costs.  To apply for free eye exams and free glasses, Alleghany County (VA) citizens can obtain an application from the Covington Health Department, at 321 Beach St., Covington, VA (or send an e-mail to CFLionsClub1935@gmail.com and we will e-mail the form to you).  Bath County citizens can obtain the from from their health department at 51 Courthouse Hill Rd., Warm Springs, VA, 24484 (or send an e-mail to us).  If eligible, our club will work with you to obtain the services.

In the past, our club has conducted free, in-school eye exam screenings in Alleghany County Public Schools (in coordination with the schools' nurses).  If eyesight issues are discovered, children are then referred to an eye doctor for further testing and may be fitted with free eyeglasses. As of October 2023, we have not yet restarted this program.

If an area organization is interested in partnering with us on projects, please send an e-mail to us.  We will review the request and get back to you as soon as possible.

Our motto is "WE SERVE!"
