The new "Central Saanich Little Leaque Training Facility"

In early January the Central Saanich Lions Club voted to contribute $10,000 to help complete the new batting cage in Centennial Park. That comes to a total of $20,000 that we donated to Central Saanich Little League for the batting cage.   Thanks to all of those involved in making this new facility a reality.    There is no shortage of projects to keep us busy.

Brentwood Bay Performance Stage

From the Peninsula News Review

Central Saanich Lions give $20,000 to new Brentwood performance stage.  From the Peninsula News Review.  The Brentwood Bay Community Association (BBCA) recently accepted a generous donation of $20,000 from the Central Saanich Lions Club. The funds will go towards a new permanent outdoor performance stage in Brentwood Bay’s Pioneer Park, which the BBCA oversees. The donation was made on behalf of all the members of the Central Saanich Lions Club through their many fund raising activities, in memory of William Eastgate, who was a prominent member of the Lions for many years. “It was a natural fit,” said John Hannam, president of the Cent

ral Saanich Lions Club.

“Our organization is all about community, and the new stage will be bringing families and friends together for all kinds of events for decades to come. We’re proud to play a leading role in this wonderful project.”

I.E.O.A. Truck Light Parade

The 19th Annual IEOA Truck Light Convoy and Food Drive will be held on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017.

The Truck Light Convoy starts at Ogden Point at approximately 5:45 pm. The trucks will arrive at Helmcken Rd and the Trans Canada Overpass at approximately 7:30 pm and roll into Western Speedway around 8:15 pm.

The club prepares and serves Hotdogs and Hot Chocolate to all that have braved the weather.

The public is invited to the Western Speedway for the conclusion of the event. Admission is by non-perishable food item or cash donation. Coffee, hot dogs and hot chocolate will be available by donation.

The event last year was a tremendous success benefiting the food banks and bringing families out to celebrate a free community event. Approximately 7,500 pounds of non perishable food products were collected.

The IEOA, Sponsors, Co-presenters, Mustard Seed Food Bank, Westshore Christmas Hamper Fund and Sidney Lions Food Bank thank you for supporting an event that is truly a gift to the people of the entire Capital Region.

Thank you for helping us make Christmas happier for those less fortunate.
