Message From our President Lion Bob Warren

September was a busy month with four food events.  The first time event at Oaklands School, chaired by Ken Burkowski, proved to be a big one. The meal was well received by the 500 students, staff, and parents, and lots of compliments were to be heard. A big ‘thank you’ to the Chairmen and Lion members that helped make the month so successful.

The food events taper off now and we will be busy in our other areas of service.  A ‘thank you’ to Dennis Powell for all his work with the SPOT Scanning program which will extend to School Districts 61 and 63. A ‘thank you’ to Kip Wilson for his well received presentation at our last meeting, and also for stepping up to stand as 2nd Vice President for Central Saanich.

As Zone Chair Lorne Bunyan said after his visit on September 12, we have a great crew that does outstanding work for Lionism. He mentioned the reception he received, the friendliness our members offered and what an incredible evening it was. Lorne’s note speaks volumes about our club!  Remember to spread the word and invite others to attend a meeting.
