SAYING OF THE MONTH

Leaders don't force people to follow. They invite them on a journey.

WORK DAY AT TEXAS LIONS CAMP

Our members take a little break from their duties.

The crew did a marvelous job and they are still smiling.

Our Club now has a Foundation to receive tax deductible charitable donations. Specific charities may be identified, if desired, in making donations to the Foundation. All donations are used to support many local non-profit organizations. We are not equipped to receive donations by credit card, therefore, all donations should be made by check or money order made out to Central Park Lions CLub Foundation and sent to:

Mr. Dean Tillery, 3423 Hunters Stand, San Antonio, TX 78230

NOTES ABOUT CPLC

The club was chartered on May 23, 1969 and originally met at Central Park Mall; hence the name. Our biggest project is a contract bingo operation. Every penny that we make in that operation is donated to various organizations in our area and includes programs for schools. Our club has donated over $100,000 to these organizations, as well as donations to Lions Clubs International for the Sight First program for the blind. Central Park Lions support over thirty community service programs, including large donations to Any Baby Can, St. Peter's Home, St. Joseph's Home, VTO Champions Fore Charity, and other organizations. In addition, the club provides college scholarships.

We have both male and female members in our club and we are always interested in finding new members who are service oriented and have a desire to help the less fortunate in our city. Anyone interested in joining our club can contact Dennis Alvey at 210-404-2620 or Mike Pardoe 210-382-6687. We look forward to hearing from you.
