The Student Speakers Foundation is a California nonprofit corporation administered by a board of directors and 15 trustees. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide scholarships to augment the prizes awarded to the winners of the California Multiple District Four Student Speakers Program.
This year the Foundation will provide scholarships totaling $103,500.00. From this amount, each of the fifteen District winners will receive a $4,500.00 scholarship, each of the four Area winners will receive an additional $6,500.00 scholarship and the winner of the Multiple District Four Contest will receive an additional $10,000.00 scholarship.
The assets of the Foundation are invested primarily in federally insured, term accounts to provide the highest rate of return obtainable with maximum guaranteed security for the assets of the Foundation. With this investment policy and with additional income provided through contributions to the Foundation, the Lions Fourth District Student Speakers Foundation, Inc. will be able to continue its annual support of the scholarship awards program.

The Air National Guard has also worked around the clock under duress for many month to get food to families facing hunger and homelessness since the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic.
The host boat was Mega Bite Charter Boat Captained by none other than Lion Captain Tom Dolan. The Lions hosting the boat were so delighted to be able to be a part of the event that honored these great men and women for their efforts.

Building Obelisk Trellises Service Project
Saturday, Sept. 19th- The Capitola Coast Lions built several obelisk/trellises to be used during the 2021 crop year for plant upstarts and at the Spring Farm Sale.
President Fred and Director Dylan created the first prototypes from wood and bamboo. The construction was very easy. A saw was used to cut the wood. Most of the work required screwing the wood pieces together. Lions brought screw guns or drills; the work was easy.
Special thanks to Kirby Wilkins for volunteering to provide the lumber needed for this project. Also a special thank you to Lion Vrinda Quintero for providing the fabulous food for the volunteers.
This was a great day to come out to the farm and learn more about our vision for serving our community.
