The Calumet City Lions Club currently conducts two fund-raiser on an annual basis:
$20,000 Raffle
The drawing is is held on the second Friday in May at the VFW and is broadcast live on the club's Facebook page. Early Bird drawings ($250 & $1,000) are conducted prior to the Big Drawing. Ten prizes ranging from $200 to $20,000 are awarded. Only 500 tickets ($100 each) are sold and may be purchased from any club member.
Pancake Breakfast
Every spring attendees enjoy an "All-You-Can-Eat" meal of pancakes, sausage, eggs, hash browns, coffee. tea, juice, milk -- thanks to the efforts of Master Chef Lion Steve Sikorski and his team of hard-working Lions and volunteers. For six decades it's been a GRRR-eat way to start the day with good food, good friends, good fun.
(Proceeds from these events are used to help the blind and visually handicapped as well as many other worthwhile community projects.)
