CLUB HISTORY |
The Lions Club of Brisbane Moorooka Inc was chartered as a member club on 17 May 1965. |
For over 55 years the Club has been involved in a wide variety of Community Service Projects |
in the Moorooka and Greater Brisbane area. |
The Club continues to be actively involved with the local community through its various activities. |

CLUB MEMBERSHIP |
Lions club membership is by invitation only, open to persons of legal majority, |
of good moral character and good reputation in the community. |
As a Lion, you become an active volunteer in a respected international organization, |
a leader in your community and a friend to people in need. |
Lions Clubs are made up of men and women who want to improve their communities |
and are committed to the work that will make that happen. |

CLUB STRUCTURE |
The Moorooka Lions Club operates under the Lions International Constitution and By-Laws. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Our Club's current Board consists of the following:- |

Tail Twister (promotes enthusiasm at meetings) |

Officers are elected annually at the Club's "Change Over Dinner" normally held in June/July. |

CLUB MEETINGS |
Board Meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday evening of each month, except January, at the |
Junction Hotel, 413 Ipswich Road Annerley, at 6:30pm for fellowship. |
The meeting starts at 7:15pm. |
|
|
|
|
|
Dinner Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday evening of each month at the |
Junction Hotel, 413 Ipswich Road Annerley, at 6:30pm for fellowship. |
The meeting starts at 7:00pm. |
Dinner Meetings normally include a dinner and sometimes a guest speaker. |
|
|
|
|
|
At Moorooka Lions we try to make our meetings as interesting as possible and |
encourage participation of members in a friendly and relaxed way. |
|
|
|
|
|
COSTS |
The current membership entrance fee is $70. |
The Moorooka Lions Club's current annual membership fee is $100 (payable in two instalments |
if necessary). |
This fee covers the Club, District and International levies and includes your "LION" magazine, |
published 10 times per year. |
|
|
|
|
|
CLUB ACTIVITIES |
Apart from our regular Board and Dinner Meetings held each month, the Club's other activities |
can be divided into the following:- |
Community Service Projects, Fund Raising Projects and Social Functions |
