CONVENTIONS - THE MEETING PLACE FOR LIONS
The convention at Bangkok saw the rekindling of many a friendship - our Lion Nihal Goonetilleke, this year (2008), was the sole representative of our club and worked at the Convention Lions Internet Cafe helping Lions communicate with their loved ones on the internet.
He also met three lions that he had been in communication with, for the last six years over the net, but had never set eyes on them. They had all discussed various matters over the past and always knew that one day they would meet.
Well it happened at the convention.Lions Sonia Davos and Arnold Tollentino of the Philipines and Lion Yogi Kardam of Digboy, India too attended the convention and came seeking Lion Nihal, whom they were aware would be at the Cafe. Lion Nihal was overjoyed to meet these lions and regards for him, this as the highpoint of the convention.
Lion Nihal spent his time with Lions Dan and Sandi Uitti of Connecticut, helping them run the Internet Cafe. He also met numerous Lions from other countries and one up and coming Lion from Sri Lanka - former Leo and now Lion Asitha Pinnduwa of Leos of Colombo Host 306A1 whose Leo club was adjudged as the Best Leo Club in the World - Congratulations to Leo Asitha and his club. He also met Lions Gratian and Sriyani Gunawardena (Lion Gratian was adjudged the best District Governor in 2007) old friends from Sri Lanka. A chance meeting with Lion Dhammika Hettiarachchi, Lion Wimalasiri and Lion Kumaraverl ended one night at the ISSAME Convention Dinner, where he had the opportunity of saying "G'day" to International President Mahendra Amarasuriya.

YERONGA STATE PRIMARY SCHOOL - BUSH DANCE
The Yeronga State Primary School had their annual BUSH DANCE on the 24th of May 2003 and as usual the Brisbane Ekibin Lions lent a hand by manning the Hamburger stall. It was a very successful day for the school.
Photos show the ever happy lions of Brisbane Ekibin at work.
Chevy Car Swap Meet /Hamburger & Soft Drinks Stall
The annual Chevy Car Swap Meet took place on Sunday the 11th August 2002 and as is customary, the Brisbane Ekibin Lions Club had its Hamburger and Drink Stall.
A Crowd of over Six Thousand thronged the Rocklea Show Grounds this year as the weather was a pleasant 22 degrees with bright sunshine (typical Brisbane weather - the envy of all Australians NOT living in the Sunshine State of Queensland). Sales were brisk and the Lions were kept busy from 7 AM till Noon. Turnaround at the Hamburger stall rivalled that at McDonalds and our Hamburgers were voted the best and second to none. We fed a heap of satisfied customers, both young and not too young, the clean shaven and hirsute - see top half of photo. In the bottom half are the three stooges - ooooops sorry they look like our sellers - Lions Neil, Byron and Steve.
