- The original Belvidere Lions Club was organized March 21, 1939 with 26 members. They met every Wednesday noon at a tea room called the Homestead. Because most of the members of the club had answered their call to duty the club was disbanded in 1944 and the Original Charter was given up. On April 16, 1946 the Belvidere Club was reorganized with 65 members. The Belvidere Club currently has 39 members.

The Belvidere Lions Club also has a Branch Club. The branch club meets once a month at a local restaurant. Members work projects and raise funds for local high school scholarships.

The Belvidere Lions Club is very active in the community with service projects. The club donated a town clock in 2008.
- The Belvidere Lions Club supports the Center for Sight and Hearing in Rockford, IL and also Leader Dog service dogs.
- The Belvidere Lions Club serves the community by helping individuals with hearing and sight disabilities and putting them in touch with resources for there disabilities.
