Below is an example of some of the donations, giving and community betterment the Bellevue Lions Club does on a regular and/or annual basis.

  • Bellevue Lions Club Annual Scholarship
  • Provide eye testing at local parochial schools
  • Provide funding for eye exams and eyeglasses for those unable to afford it, in conjuction with Lenscrafters
  • Wisconsin Lions Foundation
    • General donation - used at the Foundation's discretion
    • Birch-Sturm - A donation that goes towards the purchase and presentation of an award to a club member
    • Lion's Pride Campaign - used to fund an endowment fund to provide for the future of the Foundation and the Wisconsin Lion's Camp at Rosholt, WI.

2023 Scholarship Information

The Bellevue Lions Club has established a scholarship fund to provide one-time grants to deserving high-school graduates from the Village of Bellevue or children / grandchildren of Bellevue Lions Club members. This scholarship will be awarded based on community service, scholastic achievement, leadership, extra-curricular participation and character of the applicant. The $1000 scholarship will be paid to the recipient’s school, 50% at the beginning of the fall semester and 50% at the beginning of the spring semester.

Eligibility: 

Any 2023 high school graduate is eligible to apply who:

  • Is certified for graduation, AND
  • Has met the entrance requirements of an accredited institution of advanced education AND
  • Resides in the Village of Bellevue OR
  • Is a non-resident child or grandchild of a Bellevue Lions Club member

Criteria:

  • Acceptance to a 2 year or 4 year college, university or technical school.  Evidence of acceptance/enrollment at above school must be returned with your application
  • Graduation from high school
  • Demonstrated community involvement
  • 1 Letter of recommendation from a community member outside the school setting
  • Completed Counselor Comments Form with transcripts of grades including GPA and class rank, and ACT scores
  • Essay:  On a separate sheet of paper in 12 pt. font, double spaced (please limit to 350 words or less).  The Lions’ philosophy is “WE SERVE”; describe how your career choice may enhance the philosophy of Lionism and how you will apply this philosophy to your community in the future.

Scoring:

  • GPA/Class Rank/ACT Scores
  • Letters of Recommendation
  • Essay
  • Extracurricular Involvement
  • Service to Community

Deadline:

  • Application Packets available in January of each year
  • Applications must be recieved by Friday, March 3, 2023 to the address listed below.
  • Recipient will be notified at their scholarship banquet in the spring of the year.

Please Note:

  • Scholarship recipients and their parent(s) will be honored at the Tuesday, June 6th, 2023 Bellevue Lions Club meeting. Guests of the recipients may also attend the dinner at their expense.
