Lions Club Batam is the very first lions club in Batam Island, Riau Islands Province. The Club establishment was approved by Lions International on 03 March 2003 with Club ID 67389, the club was sponsored by Lions Club Jakarta Cendana. The inauguration night or so called as Charter Night where all the 20 members were sworn as Charter Member was held on 25 March 2003 by District Governor Juswan Tjoe. The club Charter President was Lion Effendy Abdullah, Charter Club Secretary was Lion Rosmiati and Charter Traesure was Lion Ismail Tan
