Bancroft Lions Club

   Bancroft the mineral capital of Canada, Home of the largest rockhound jamboree, But there is so much more to us than rocks and gems.

Over the 80 years the Lions Club has been in Bancroft, the town and the club have seen many changes over the years, however our core values has stayed the same WE SERVE now as we did then.

Locally we have rasied money for the Hospital, Hospic, Maggies, Woodshare and Scouts just to name a few. 

these days we raise money through our Toll roads, BBQs, and Book sales. In the past we have done Live Radio Actions, Spagetti Dinners and Raffles of all sorts.

Nationally we collect old eye glasses for third world countries, support guide dogs of Canada, best foot forward (footcare for diabetics) Lions Camp Dorset (a camp for families with a member on kidney dialysis can go to camp) and so much more.

In 1945 when the Bancroft Lions was formed they took over the running of the Santa Claus Parade. it is still running today which is something we are very proud off

in 2014 we took over the running of Santa's House in riverside park. the little log building where the kids can visite with Santa.

As Lions, there are commitments we continue to meet.  One of these is furthering our knowledge of Lionism and we accomplish this by attending regular Club meetings.  This is an important part of being a strong Lion so think about attending our next meeting to meet some great community people and also, to learn more about this worldwide service Club.  We try to keep our meetings interesting, and sometimes invite guest speakers, many from our District Executive, to hear positive stories of successful Lionism.

Providing volunteer time within your community not only provides you with a gratifyng experience but goes a long way helping those in need.
