The Lions Club International (LCI) was founded in 1917. Auburn Host Lions was established in 1927 to become part of LCI's growing, global community - now, with more than 1.4 million members in over 48,000 clubs serving communities in 200 countries. Lions around the world have a dynamic history, known first for fighting blindness, with an expanded recognition for volunteer work in many kinds of community projects - caring for nature, helping in disaster relief, feeding the hungry, aiding children, schools, veterans, seniors and the disabled.
